2- DISCOUNTS

Employee and Alumni Discount:

A Fee Discount is available to children (only one of the children) of full time (active or retired) staff of the METU campuses (Ankara, Northern Cyprus, Erdemli); children (only one of the children) of METU graduates; and siblings (only one of the siblings) of current students who pursue their undergraduate studies at METU (any campus). A prospective student is eligible for a discount for only one of these categories.

2.2. Sibling Discount:

One of the siblings (with lower scholarship) will pay the reduced tuition fee of $6000 per academic year. Any further Tuition Waiver discount granted will be calculated taking this reduced fee as a base. Both siblings must be registered as regular students. (Students of both School of Foreign Languages and undergraduate programs can benefit from the discount)

In order to benefit from the discount, prospective students should apply with their passport copies to the Registrar's Office until the last day of the add/drop period of that semester.

3- SCHOLARSHIPS

3.1. Tuition waiver scholarship opportunity for academic year 2020-2021

Tuition waiver scholarships offered at the time of admission to applicants with application scores (National or International curriculum) considerably above the minimum required for application, and to exceptionally successful applicants, cover 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the tuition. The applications are evaluated weekly by the international student admission committee.

Duration for scholarship: 5 years in the program of study (Note: The duration of all undergraduate programs are four years), plus 1 year in the English Preparatory Program (if required).

Suspension Condition: The scholarship is suspended for the following semester if the student falls into Probation status in any semester other than his/her first two semesters in the degree program, and will be re-granted once the student gets out of Probation. (As per the METU NCC regulations, the student falls into Probation status if his/her CGPCA falls below 2.00 out of 4.00 for two consecutive semesters)

The scholarship of prospective students who attend the English Preparatory Program for one year and have a yearly total of 50.00 or above, or students who score minimum 50 in any one of the English Proficiency Exams they take continues for another year. In other words, they can repeat the English Preparatory Program under the same scholarship. However, the student must not fail due to absenteeism because such students will not have a yearly total as they have not completed a year at the English Preparatory Program. The only way such students can repeat the English Preparatory Program under a scholarship is score minimum 50 in the only English Proficiency Exam they can take, which is the exam administered in September.

3.2. Merit Scholarship:

On condition that students have successfully completed the first two semesters of an undergraduate degree program, excluding the Prep School period, and that their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) has placed them among the top 3% of the total undergraduate students enrolled in that particular program, excluding those attending the Prep School classes;

Students who have attained an N-CGPA (Weighted-Cumulative Grade Point Average) in the interval of 3,50 – 3,74 based on a 4 point scale become eligible to receive a "Merit Scholarship", which amounts to 450 TL per month, covering October, November, December and January of the following Fall Semester; and February, March, April and May of the Spring Semester.

Students who have attained 3,75 or higher N-CGPA on a 4 point scale become eligible to receive a Merit Scholarship, which amounts to 650 TL per month, covering October, November, December and January of the following Fall semester; and February, March, April and May of the Spring Semester.

To be eligible to receive the Merit Scholarship a student should satisfy all of the following conditions:

5- Must not have been subject to any disciplinary action

There are also scholarship opportunities offered to students in return for working in the library, laboratories, IT, sports complex, dormitories etc. In order to be eligible for this type of scholarship, not only academic success but also the student's financial conditions and disciplinary suitability are taken into consideration.

3.4. Support Scholarship:

On condition that they are successful in their studies, students in need of temporary financial support, may apply to this scholarship (with evidence of their situation) which provides them with books, necessities etc. This support is subject to decision of the Scholarship and Support Fund of METU NCC.
